Itinerary

Day 1 - Dublin

Dublin, Ireland: Dublin is making a comeback. The decade-long "Celtic Tiger" boom era was quickly followed by the Great Recession, but The Recovery has finally taken a precarious hold. For visitors, this newer and wiser Dublin has become one of western Europe's most popular and delightful urban destinations. Whether or not you're out to enjoy the old or new Dublin, you'll find it a colossally entertaining city, all the more astonishing considering its intimate size. It's ironic and telling that James Joyce chose Dublin as the setting for his famous works because it was once considered a "center of paralysis," but that couldn't be further from the truth today. The vibrant city is filled with exciting neighbourhoods such as Temple Bar, cultural highlights like Riverdance, and a thriving arts scene. Dublin's locals add to its charm with their warm, dark humour and friendly demeanour, making the city an unforgettable destination.

Day 2 - Douglas

Douglas, Isle of Man: The Isle of Man, situated in the Irish Sea off the west coast of England, is a mountainous, cliff-fringed island and one of Britain’s most beautiful spots. Measuring just 30 miles by 13 miles, the Isle of Man remains semi-autonomous. With its own postage stamps, laws, currency, and the Court of Tynwald (the world’s oldest democratic parliament), the Isle of Man is rich with history and lore. Inhabited since Neolithic times, it became a shelter for Irish missionaries in the 5th century, later falling under Norse control, before being sold to Scotland and eventually to England. The island's blend of languages, including a minority of Manx speakers, and its tax-free status draw a unique population. Its landscape features moorlands, glens, castles, and the impressive Mount Snaefell.

Day 3 - Portrush

Portrush, Northern Ireland: Portrush is adjacent to the stunning North Antrim coastline, home to the medieval Dunluce Castle ruins. The castle, perched dramatically above the sea with steep drops on all sides, provided security in ancient times. Nearby, the Giant’s Causeway presents 40,000 hexagonal basalt columns descending into the sea, a natural wonder formed 50 million years ago. Both landmarks provide a rich narrative of history and geology, and the beauty of the area has earned it UNESCO World Heritage status.

Day 3 - Rathlin Island

Rathlin Island, Northern Ireland: Rathlin Island, a place of natural beauty and tranquillity, is located off the northern coast of Northern Ireland. The island is renowned for its seabird colonies, historic landmarks, and rugged landscapes. Visitors often explore its cliffs, lighthouses, and remnants of ancient settlements while enjoying the serene atmosphere.

Day 4 - Iona

Iona, Hebrides, Scotland: Discover Iona, nestled off the southwest coast of Mull in the Inner Hebrides. With a population of just 130, Iona is famed for its historical Abbey, once central to Gaelic monasticism. The island is a quintessential Hebridean beauty, with its tranquil landscapes providing a picturesque backdrop, especially when the skies are clear.

Day 4 - Isle of Lunga

Isle of Lunga, Scotland: The stunning Isle of Lunga is the largest island in the Treshnish archipelago. Of volcanic origin, it was inhabited until the 19th century, with ruins of black houses still visible. Today, it is a sanctuary for diverse plant and bird life, including the famous puffins nesting atop the cliffs. The 81-hectare island is home to rare and endangered plants, such as primroses and orchids.

Day 5 - Loch Scavaig

Loch Scavaig, Isle of Skye, Scotland: A visit to Loch Scavaig offers breathtaking views of dramatic landscapes where the sea meets the rugged plains of the Isle of Skye. The loch is famous for its peacefulness and proximity to the impressive Cuillin Hills, providing a perfect setting for exploring Scotland's stunning natural scenery.

Day 5 - Canna

Canna, Inner Hebrides, Scotland: Canna is an integral part of the Scottish Inner Hebrides, known for its rich wildlife and peaceful environment. Often referred to as the "Garden of the Hebrides," Canna is a haven for birds and rare plant species. Visitors can enjoy long coastal walks and stunning vistas.

Day 6 - Callanish

Callanish, Scotland: Callanish is a picturesque village on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, known for its famous standing stones, which predate Stonehenge. The area is rich with archaeological sites and tranquil landscapes, providing a window into Scotland's ancient past.

Day 7 - Ullapool

Ullapool, Scotland: Ullapool is an ideal base for hiking in Sutherland and taking wildlife and nature cruises to the Summer Isles. Situated by Loch Broom, the town was established in 1788 as a fishing station. Visitors can experience the local maritime culture, and when the Lewis ferry arrives, Ullapool buzzes with life.

Day 8 - Lochmaddy

Lochmaddy, North Uist Island, Scotland: Lochmaddy is the gateway to North Uist, an island known for its wild beauty comprising sandy beaches, lochs, and abundant wildlife. The village boasts charming lanes and provides a glimpse into the Hebridean way of life, making it a unique and quiet stop on a Scottish itinerary.

Day 9 - Rothesay

Rothesay, Isle of Bute, Scotland: Rothesay is a seaside town on the Isle of Bute, famous for its Victorian architecture and beautiful gardens like the Rothesay Castle and its charming town centre. Visitors can enjoy coastal walks and the numerous scenic spots this island offers.

Day 10 - Glasgow

Glasgow, Scotland: Begin your exploration in Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow, which is brimming with historic landmarks and vibrant culture. The city's distinct architecture blends 19th-century grandeur with modern innovations. Glasgow is renowned for its lively street entertainment, galleries, and museums, providing a rich cultural experience.
