Itinerary

Day 1 - Venice

Venice, Italy: Venice is a city unlike any other. No matter how often you've seen it in photos and films, the real experience is more dreamlike than imaginable. With canals in place of streets, water shimmers everywhere. The fabulous palaces and churches reflect centuries of history as a wealthy trading centre between Europe and the Orient. Getting lost in the narrow alleyways is quintessential to exploring Venice, often leading you to Piazza San Marco, where tourists and locals gather for a coffee or aperitif.

Day 2 - Rovinj

Rovinj, Croatia: One of the true jewels of the Mediterranean, Rovinj is a breathtakingly beautiful town jutting into the sparkling Mediterranean. Dominated by the pencil-like bell tower of the Venetian Saint Euphemia Cathedral, pine forests extend to the borders of the quaint Old Town, reminiscent of the romantic, tangled backstreets of Venice. Rovinj, or Rovino in Italian, showcases dual identities and languages, having belonged to the Kingdom of Italy between 1919 and 1947.

Day 3 - Hvar Island

Hvar Island, Croatia: Known as the "sunniest island in the Adriatic", Hvar boasts an impressive annual average of 2,724 hours of sunshine. It offers visitors a delightful challenge, promising a money-back guarantee if seven consecutive days of snow occur—an event not seen since February 2012.

Day 4 - Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik, Croatia: The first sight of Dubrovnik is unforgettable. Situated 216 km southeast of Split with a breathtaking coastal location, it is one of the world's most beautiful fortified cities. Massive stone ramparts and fortress towers curve around a tiny harbour, enclosing graduated ridges of sun-bleached orange-tiled roofs, copper domes, and elegant bell towers. Dubrovnik's history is rich, having evolved from a Roman settlement to a sophisticated independent republic during its golden 16th century. Despite war and natural disasters, Dubrovnik has been meticulously restored, and today it stands as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 5 - Kotor

Kotor, Montenegro: Nestled within Europe's most southerly fjord, Kotor is tucked away from the open sea, backed by imposing mountains. Its charming Stari Grad (Old Town) is enclosed by well-preserved walls dating from the 9th to 18th centuries. Kotor is blessed with authenticity and fewer tourists in comparison to its sister city, Dubrovnik. Its medieval charm is complemented by a rich history of Venetian influence, making it a captivating destination to explore.

Day 6 - Corfu

Corfu, Greece: Corfu town today is a sophisticated blend of cultures where charm, history, and natural beauty intertwine. Positioned on a small peninsula, its historic centre has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007. Whether arriving by ferry or plane, start with a coffee in the Liston Arcade before exploring the pedestrian-only lanes. Adjacent transport options and the vibrant night scene make Corfu town a delightful place to visit.

Day 8 - Taormina

Taormina, Italy: Despite being popular with tourists, Taormina retains its natural beauty. Perched atop cliffs, it offers spectacular views of the sea and Mt. Etna—especially striking on clear days when the volcano's smoke contrasts against the sky. Renowned writers have celebrated Taormina's beauty since its founding in the 6th century BC, and its charming surroundings continue to offer hiking opportunities and timeless vistas.

Day 9 - Amalfi

Amalfi, Italy: Once a powerful naval republic, Amalfi now captivates with its picturesque setting in a verdant valley of the Lattari Mountains. The town is rich in history, evidenced by its medieval architecture and Arab-Sicilian cloisters. Today, Amalfi showcases its stupendous past through lively sea pageants, transformed convents, and its shimmering cathedral.

Day 10 - Sorrento

Sorrento, Italy: Although now a starting point for exploring Pompeii, Capri, and Amalfi, Sorrento offers numerous charms of its own. Known for its lively and warm-hearted people, the town is divided by a former mountain stream, providing a beautiful promenade lined with historic and modern attractions. The central piazza, bustling with local artisans, invites a leisurely exploration amidst a blend of medieval and modern vibes.

Day 11 - Ponza Island

Ponza Island, Italy: Ponza Island offers an untouched haven with dramatic cliffs and serene surroundings. Renowned for its pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and picturesque landscapes, it provides a tranquil retreat from the hustle. The island's ancient Roman history is evident in its architecture and archaeological sites, which seamlessly blend with its natural beauty. Ponza is an idyllic destination for those seeking a peaceful and scenic escape.

Day 11 - Palmarola Island

Palmarola Island, Italy: Palmarola is one of Italy’s hidden gems, offering an unspoiled paradise just a short distance from Ponza. The island, mostly uninhabited, is known for its stunning natural formations and vivid marine life. The rugged cliffs and hidden grottos create a picturesque setting, perfect for small expeditions and snorkelling adventures. Palmarola epitomises serene beauty, providing a tranquil and breathtaking experience.

Day 12 - Civitavecchia

Civitavecchia, Italy: The port gateway to Italy's capital, Rome, Civitavecchia serves as the starting point for discovering the blend of ancient history and modern vibrancy. Explore archaeological landmarks of ancient Rome or absorb the pleasant laziness known as 'il dolce far niente' amidst charming cafés and enticing piazzas in Rome’s cityscape as you conclude your holiday.
