Day 1 - Marigot

The French side exudes a sophisticated ambience with fashionable shopping and a Continental flair. Conversely, the Dutch side offers a less expensive experience with casino hotels and vibrant nightlife. The island is renowned for its water sports including diving, snorkeling, sailing, and windsurfing, alongside its 37 beautiful beaches. Visitors can explore the bustling boardwalk of Dutch-side Philipsburg and the charming French town of Marigot. To truly discover St. Maarten/St. Martin, rent a car and enjoy a scenic loop around the island. Although roads near Philipsburg and Marigot can become congested, they are generally in good condition with some narrow and winding stretches. Signage may not indicate street names, but destination signs are plentiful. Luckily, the island is so compact it's hard to get lost, or so say the locals. Stores remain open past 7 in the evening. Gustavia's allure includes its charming harbour lined with catamarans, yachts, and sailboats, although finding a parking spot can be challenging, especially during busy periods. Rue de la République is a convenient place to park.

Day 4 - Charlestown

Day 7 - Îles des Saintes

Îles des Saintes, Guadeloupe: Opposite western Guadeloupe lies this small group of islands, discovered by Columbus in 1493 and later settled by the French in 1648. Until recently, these islands were among the Caribbean's most pristine areas. Only two islands, Terre-de-Bas and Terre-de-Haut, are populated. Terre-de-Haut is noted for its impressive Fort Napoleon and offers panoramic views over the bay. Characterised by steep hills and lovely beaches, the island's main settlement is a picturesque village along the bay. With scant vehicle traffic, most attractions are accessible on foot, allowing for leisurely exploration.
