Itinerary

Day 1 - Amsterdam

Amsterdam, Netherlands: Amsterdam combines the unrivalled beauty of the 17th-century Golden Age city centre with an array of museums and top-tier art, all within a remarkably laid-back atmosphere, making it one of the world's most appealing metropolises. Known as the City of Canals, Amsterdam's concentric canals form an 'aquatic rainbow', with old and new living harmoniously side by side. From quiet corners to bustling neon-lit streets, this small yet accessible metropolis offers a delightful blend of culture, boasting more than 7,000 registered monuments and the largest historical inner city in Europe. Amsterdam's charms lie in its details—intricate gables, hidden courtyards, and the city's coat of arms featuring three iconic St. Andrew's crosses, representing the city's valiance, determination, and compassion. Every street whispers stories, promising an enduring cultural feast from Rembrandt to Van Gogh, a spectacular walking city packed with impressive history and vibrant present-day allure.

Day 2 - Oostende

Oostende, Belgium: Known for its vibrant blend of culture and maritime heritage, Oostende boasts long sandy beaches along the North Sea and a rich history as a naval bastion. Visitors can explore its bustling seafront, savour fresh seafood at local markets, and delve into its history with attractions like the Fort Napoleon. The city's lively atmosphere and coastal charm make it a delightful stop.

Day 3 - Honfleur

Honfleur, France: Picturesque Honfleur is a timeless treasure on the Côte Fleurie. Its charming cobblestone streets lined with half-timbered houses and stylish boutiques offer a peek into its rich Renaissance past, especially around the 17th-century Vieux Bassin harbour. This town inspired Impressionist painters and was a starting point for important seafaring expeditions. Since the Pont de Normandie opened nearby, it's easier than ever to access this historic marvel.

Day 4 - Saint-Malo

Saint-Malo, France: Saint-Malo rises from the sea, connected to the mainland by slender causeways, and known for its fearless sailors, including explorers and corsairs like Jacques Cartier. While WWII devastated much of its architecture, careful restoration has revived its granite houses and winding alleys. Today, it thrives as a fishing port and tourist haven, with ramparts that narrate its storied past.

Day 5 - Roscoff

Roscoff, France: This quaint fishing village offers a rich tapestry of Breton culture and history. Known for its iconic pink granite architecture, Roscoff is famed for its spiritual landmarks, such as the Notre-Dame de Croaz-Batz. Its picturesque port views and delicate seafood cuisine make it a coveted destination for those seeking authenticity and tradition.

Day 6 - Lorient

Once a critical 17th-century trading port, Lorient has evolved into a dynamic town with historic naval accolades. Its waterfront promenades and cultural festivals attract visitors keen on discovering its eclectic past and lively present.

Day 7 - Royan

Royan, France: This charming coastal town is renowned for its beautiful beaches and mid-century modernist architecture. Known as a fashionable holiday destination, Royan combines its traditional past with contemporary appeal, offering freshly caught seafood and scenic seaside promenades.

Day 8 - Bilbao

Bilbao, Spain: Bilbao has undergone a cultural revolution, thanks largely to Frank Gehry’s Guggenheim Museum. Dynamic additions like sleek modern infrastructure blend with its rich Basque history. The Casco Viejo brims with character, offering a medley of shops and eateries amidst historical mansions. Bilbao promises a mix of heritage and innovation, solidifying its status as a cultural epicentre.

Day 9 - Santander

Santander, Spain: This elegant city, known for its stunning bay views, combines classic charm with urban sophistication. Santander impresses with its cathedral, markets, and Magdalena Peninsula, offering whale-watching opportunities and rich wildlife. With a captivating blend of beaches and culture, it's a must-visit on Spain’s northern shores.

From early days as a fishing port to a major maritime centre under the Bourbons, Ferrol has flourished due to its vast natural harbour. Its layout, inspired by Lisbon, showcases its unique blend of historical and contemporary facets, while acting as a gateway to Galicia's landscapes and Santiago de Compostela.

Day 11 - Leixões
