Itinerary

Day 1 - Istanbul

Istanbul, Turkey: Istanbul, uniquely positioned on two continents, was historically known as Byzantium and then Constantinople, serving as the capital of both the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires. As one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities, it strikes a balance between East and West, and old and new. Modern office towers blend with historic palaces, traditional markets like the Grand Bazaar coexist with contemporary shopping malls, and vibrant nightlife thrives alongside historical sites such as the Aya Sofya and the architectural wonders of Sinan’s mosques. Despite its sprawling nature, Istanbul’s Old City remains a treasure trove of history, while the city’s cultural dynamism continues to flourish, propelled by its youthful population.

Day 2 - Çanakkale

Çanakkale, Turkey: This bustling port city, steeped in history, serves as a gateway to the legendary battle site of Troy and the poignant World War I battlefields of Gallipoli. Known for its significant meaning in Turkish history and literature, Çanakkale offers impressive historical insights alongside modern attractions.

Day 3 - Kusadasi

Kusadasi, Turkey: While Kusadasi is a thriving resort with plenty of shopping, dining, and beaches, its true allure lies in the nearby ancient city of Ephesus, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned as Europe’s most complete classical metropolis. Here, history enthusiasts can revel in the remnants of the Library of Celsus, and the site of the Temple of Artemis. Kusadasi also offers relaxing beaches and the intriguing House of the Virgin Mary, reputedly her last abode, making it a compelling stop.

Day 4 - Pátmos

Pátmos, Greece: Pátmos, preserved from over-tourism due to its relative inaccessibility, offers a serene retreat that blends natural beauty with spiritual significance. Known as the site where St. John penned the Book of Revelation, visitors can explore the Monastery of the Apocalypse and enjoy a tranquil atmosphere that draws both pilgrims and eclectic artists, contributing to the island’s unspoiled charm.

Day 5 - Santorini

Santorini, Greece: Renowned as the jewel of the Aegean, Santorini mesmerizes with its dramatic caldera views and stunning sunsets over the whitewashed towns of Fira and Ia. Rich in history with its volcanic landscapes and the mythologies surrounding the island, Santorini promises unforgettable experiences from archaeological digs to culinary specialties like its unique tomatoes and fava beans.

Day 6 - Delos

Delos, Greece: Uninhabited yet teeming with history, Delos is a sacred island believed to be the birthplace of the gods Apollo and Artemis. Visitors can walk amidst the ruins of temples and public buildings that once made Delos a thriving commercial and religious hub, enlivened by colourful mosaics and ancient statues.

Day 6 - Mykonos

Mykonos, Greece: Modern glamour contrasts history in Mykonos, where busy streets filled with shops and tavernas sit alongside landmarks like the charming windmills and Little Venice. While tourist-rich, Mykonos has preserved its distinctive Cycladic architecture, offering a delightful mix of beaches, nightlife, and cultural treasures.

Day 7 - Náfplion

Náfplion, Greece: Known as one of Greece’s most beautiful towns, Náfplion captures the heart with Venetian architecture, Turkish domes, and the commanding Palamidi fortress. Offering stunning panoramas, quaint streets, and a rich blend of Greek, Venetian, and Turkish influences, it makes an ideal base for exploring the surrounding ancient sites.
