Day 1 - Valparaíso

Valparaíso, Chile: Valparaíso is a city characterised by its dramatic topography, with 45 hills offering stunning coastal views. Colourful houses, often made from the corrugated metal of old shipping containers, dot the sloping cityscape, adding to the vibrant charm. Historically, Valparaíso has been an important port for Santiago and a crucial commercial centre until the opening of the Panama Canal shifted trade routes. Despite losing some of its former importance, it remains Chile's principal port, with bustling activity centred in the area known as El Plan. Away from this urban cluster, the surrounding hills are home to the city's residents, known as Porteños, who enjoy breathtaking ocean views from numerous promenades.

Day 2 - Coquimbo

Coquimbo, Chile: The tranquil town of Coquimbo, named after the native Diaguita word meaning "place of calm waters," was once noted by Charles Darwin for its peacefulness. Day 7 - Matarani

Matarani, Peru: Situated on Peru's southwestern coast, Matarani serves as a gateway to Arequipa, a city steeped in rich pre-colonial and colonial history.
